CINCINNATI (AP) — A 45-year-old paraplegic rammed his wheelchair into an officer, threw urine from his catheter bag a patrol car and spat at the officer, police said Sunday. Termination

It’s been 12 years, I think, but it feels like less than that. Twelve years have passed since the weekend when my mother packed up the kids and left my father. Since then, he and I, once very close, have grown apart. I used to drive by a Starbucks, see his very recognizeable car parked [...]

Is this thing on?

It’s Christmas Eve, and I’m in the office. Is anyone else out there in the same predicament?
[crickets]
Figures.
In any case, Merry Christmas to everyone. I hope Santa brings you everything you desire. I leave you with a little Robot Chicken Christmas-ness to brighten your day.

Kanyentary

I wasn’t home on Saturday night, and I hadn’t set the DVR to record, so I only this morning learned of the Kanye West “lip syncing” event. After seeing various video clips, I think something needs to be established: That wasn’t lip syncing, he just can’t sing. Kanye West is a number of things. He’s [...]

Pointed observation

With the passing of Thanksgiving Day, and summarily the passing of Thanksgiving dinner, we’ve entered the portion of year that I like to call the Blogging Doldrums. People are traveling, or have people visiting. People are trying to finish up that project or those projects before the year ends. People are shopping. People are too [...]

A little more upbeat

Things aren’t all emotional and shit around here. There’s more.
Twenty-fuckin’-Four
Okay, I haven’t finished watching it yet. I was at dinner while the DVR was working. I got about an hour into it yesterday before leaving for the hospital. It’s good to see Jack hasn’t lost his ability to kill people or resist torture. This will [...]

Waiting

My family convened for dinner at Brasserie Beck on Sunday night. It was a time of celebration, gift opening, and champagne. It was just a tad different the next day.
I left my place yesterday at about 10am to go to the hospital. I would not return for 12 hours. Upon my arrival I met my [...]

28

28 is not the most significant age. It is not 20 or 30. It’s not 18 or 21. It’s not 25 or 35. What is significant, however, is the love of family and friends, which is felt on this day more than any other.

All I’ll say about this… for now

I find it ironic that the people who have taken a negative stance toward recent events have now lost their voice via the cutting off of comments, yet the individual claiming that her negativity is justified still has a voice.

Update

As some of you know, my birthday is approaching. Truth be told, it’s this Sunday. For the immediate time being, I’m focused on the pending debauchery of the weekend, but that’s going to be short lived.
The day after my birthday, my mother goes in for surgery to remove cancerous breast tissue. The operation will probably [...]
