Rain King?

I haven’t been paying too much attention to it of late, but I’m fairly sure the furor over the events that occurred before, during, and after the Radiohead concert at Nissan Pavilion has died down. I can tell you that as a multi-time Nissan concertgoer, not one thing about what happened surprised me. That’s not to excuse it by any means, but I’ve come to expect these things to happen when it comes to the Pavilion. I’ve stood in a lawn monsoon for No Doubt, and also enjoyed a sunny evening on the lawn for Bon Jovi. You win some and you lose some, but that’s the risk you take when going to an outdoor venue.

I say all of that to say that I’m taking that risk this summer when Maroon 5 and Counting Crows (and EJ, I mean Sara Barielles) come to Nissan. I know the traffic will be bad coming and going. I know I’ll probably sit in the parking lot for awhile when the concert is over. I know I’ll get wet if it rains. All of that and I’m still willing to go. Why not?

  1. Maroon 5 and Counting Crows? That sounds like a really good show. Hope you have a blast, even if it is at Nissan. :-)
