Abridged Bidography

TSD and Chick Magnet have a long history on this blog, and an even longer one in the history of the I-66 family. They were bought as puppies, about the same age and on the same day. At the time they were the second and third dogs of the house, and they didn’t take very long announcing their presence to the old family dog…

After the old family dog had to be put down with a tumor in his right rear leg, TSD was split from his “sister” Chick Magnet and he came to live with me. It was briefly challenging, as he went through some separation issues coupled with being skittish after breaking his tail in a sliding glass door and being shot at by semi-automatic gunfire in the same weekend just before moving in. Shortly thereafter Chick Magnet came along too, reuniting the pair once again, though this time significantly older…

It wasn’t long before I moved and had to send the dogs back to my mother’s…

And it wasn’t long after that that they were split again, this time with TSD moving to PA with my mother’s ex-husband (for whom he was bought in the first place) where he now resides. Chick Magnet is still at my mother’s, and I see her whenever I go over to see the family. She’s still up to her old tricks, both voluntary and involuntary. The other night I was leaving my mother’s and saying goodbye to Chick Magnet. She’d come over to me and plopped down at my feet and rolled over on her side in one motion, exposing her belly for petting. My mother, now with an empty nest (when Younger Sister’s away at school), lamented her inability to properly entertain all of Chick Magnet’s wants, and suggested that I take her for a few days soon when she has to go out of town.

I have no idea yet whether I can, but I so want to.
